super super superfoods

Hello to all of you lovely people!!! Hoping you are step by step making small changes and becoming that healthier person you and your body deserve to be :)
You must have come across some magazines, news or perhaps just foods in the store which you barely knew about named superfoods. Well here I am to help you get to know them....today I will be introducing you to their world.

The biggest inspiration I had to the world of superfoods was David Wolfe, he is a nutrition expert amongst other things and the most positive and love life person I have come across so far. Never had the pleasure to meet him although I wish one day I do but just listening to his speeches and summits is incredible enough! He is amongst many other things specialized in superoods and was the one almost 4 years ago to make me get to play around with them.

As per today I cannot live without flax, chia, maca, goldenberries and cocoa nibs. Sound all weird to you? hahaha don't worry it will be solved in a few minutes.
Let's start with the word superfoods? why denominate that to these foods? why super? They are a special category of foods found in mothr nature, they are calorically low and extremely high in nutrients. They contain a very high amount of antioxidants and essential nutrients that our bodies lack and cannot make themselves.
There are different groups to them and they all have many different properties both incredible and proven to reduce the risk of many diseases if taken regularly.

Nuts and fruit super foods

Greens superfoods
Seaweed superfoods
Mushroom superfoods
Herb superfoods
Bee superfoods

Amongst the most popular that you can use on a daily basis and easily incorporate in your diet you will find:

Chia seeds, native to mexico can be found black or . Are very high in omega-3 fatty acids and amongst other benefits can help reduce blood pressure, lower cholesterol, improve circulation, help control blood sugar and thanks to the high amount of fatty acids can help reduce cellular  inflammation therefore reducing the risk of many diseases like diabetes, arthritis, alzheimer....

Spirulinait's a vivid blue-green algae that commonly grows in freshwater lakes and ponds. It's considered a complete protein, containing an ideal balance of all 9 essential amino acids. And its protein is more digestible than other rich protein sources such as red meat and even soy. naturally loaded with vitamins A through E, iron, potassium, calcium, and antioxidants

Goji berriesGrown in the vast Himalayan Mountain region, they have long been known for their medicinal purposes in Far East medicine. They help enhance the immune system, better your eyesight, and help protect the liver. Organic goji berries are also extremely high in Vitamin A.

Raw cacao, it is chocolate in it's purest form before anything else is added. Full of healthy fats, fiber and various minerals it helps us reduce blood pressure and improve circulation,  can improve digestion and Neutralizes free radicalsHigh levels of antioxidants protect the body from a buildup of free radicals from sun exposure, pollution, cigarette smoking, etc., which may damage healthy body tissue giving rise to cancer and cardiovascular disease. Our bodies need antioxidants to 'mop up' free radicals that can damage our cells. Scientists from Cornell University recently discovered that raw cacao powder contains nearly twice the antioxidants of red wine, and up to three times the antioxidants found in green tea.)

Maca powder, originated in Peru is a root packed with nutritionally rich substances which make it an incredible instrument for contributing good balance to your daily diet. This toot is full of minerals and vitamins like Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Vitamin C and Vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12. Every one of these nutritional values are very important for our body's functionality. On top of that, research has revealed that maca is full of fiber content, and also includes 18 healthy proteins.

Flax seeds, most plant foods contain at least small amounts of phytonutrients called lignans. Lignans are unique fief-related polyphenols that provide us with antioxidant benefits, fiber-like benefits, and also act as phytoestrogens. Among all commonly eaten foods, researchers now rank flaxseeds as the number one source of lignans in human diets. Flaxseeds contain about 7 times as many lignans as the closest runner-up food (sesame seeds).

These are only a few of the many super foods out there...please take your time and go through some of the links I am providing you below and familiarize yourself with them all.

You can add them to your juices, smoothies, oatmeal..you can bake pancakes with chia seeds and add flaxseed to your yogurt, use maca powder as the boost your body needs in the morning in stead of coffee or other high caffeine products. There are so many ways of incorporating these goodies to your diet.

I will be sharing many recipes in the future containing super foods but as for now choose one, stick with it and incorporate it in your daily routine...feel the benefits and you will see how healthily addictive they are :)
